Mother Helpage disaster consultancy is active in Pakistan since last two years and is carrying the following projects in Balochistan and other sensitive locations:

    • Emergency relief
    • Medical Care
    • Counselling
    • Training to community leaders regarding disaster preparedness
Counselling centre in Sri-lanka

One of the most successful projects of Mother Helpage is the counselling centre in Puttlam Srilanka where hundreds of girls are being given the training about how to cope up with their lives after they lost their parents during the boxing day Tsunami. This counselling is based on Islamic Ethics which has proved to be a success in guiding these young girls about how to plan their future lives to be good professionals, mothers, wives and the dignified citizens. In addition to the counselling these girls are provided with the training of knitting and sewing which enables them to earn their livelihoods whilst they are still studying and engages them in a productive activity which is a part of the mental counselling.

Our disaster response team has mentioned that if the children especially the girls are not given this kind of counselling after they loose their parents, these children are susseptible to a criminal state of mind from which the reversal is almost an uphill task.
